Lea Medical Therapies Post Stroke-Clinic is intended to provide instruction to individuals discharged from the hospital immediately after stroke. (Ideally within the first 2 weeks). It is often difficult to navigate the post stroke rehabilitation world and we provide a safety net for those individuals who are unaware of what type of care is required for the following year.

Caregiver burden screen

The caregiver burden screen is intended to focus and include the caregiver as an integral part of the health care provided to the stroke survivor. This caregiver burden screen identifies the needs and wants of the caregiver and includes them in the patient's treatment plan.

Depression Screen

Depression can arise in stroke victims at any time and are depression screen not only identifies the presence of depression but assists the caregiver and the victim of stroke to understand and identify the symptoms of depression before they become severe

Emotional Lability Scale

The emotional liability scale is given to client's who laugh or cry uncontrollably to identify specific conditions that require specific therapeutic approaches.

Medication Reconciliation

Medication reconciliation is critical to ensure that the stroke victim is both taking the proper medications and they are effective for their current condition. Confusion about medications can frequently cause readmission to the emergency room and hospital and even emergent situations.

Vitals Screen

Screening in individuals vitals can help identify problems before they arise and assess the effectiveness of medications that are currently being taken.

Primary Physician, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy And Speech Therapy Recommendations

We provide information directing you to the best neurological rehabilitation outpatient centers in the region and have developed close relationships with them to follow your progress via video conferencing.

Equipment Evaluation

When patients are discharged with equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers or canes. Our clinic can evaluate the safety of that particular piece of equipment related to the patient's disability.

Rehabilitation Needs Evaluation

Allow us to confirm or modify the patient's rehabilitation needs based on their evolving recovery over the next year post stroke.

Gait Evaluation

We provide a brief gait evaluation using the clients equipment to assess and evaluate safety.

Spasticity Evaluation And Information

Spasticity is a unique problem in which the arms and legs become stiff after a stroke. Lea Medical Therapies can perform an evaluation and provide needed information about this condition that can arise up to 9 months after stroke.We provide unique treatment using Botox to relieve the symptoms of spasticity
